GRANITE FROM THE END
OF THE EARTH

THE ORIGIN OF GRANITE

On the Atlantic coast of Europe, there is an area where stone is more than just stone, it is a way of life. From time immemorial, the Celtic tribes built their monuments with stone. An area which the Roman Empire, the home of great architects, called Gallaecia. They placed their "finis terrae" in this region, the place from which they could not see any further, the authentic end of the world.

The "End of the World", in the north east of the Iberian Peninsula, is the first area of granite production in Spain, the second in Europe and the fifth in the world. 80% of the granite that is quarried in this area is exported. This is CKP's product: Granite from the End of the World.

NATURE IN STONE

Granite is an igneous rock of great beauty and a unique composition: due to its natural origin, there are no two stones alike. It is the toughest natural stone and is highly resistant to abrasion, making it a very appreciated product since ancient times. Since prehistory, when the tribes used it to create their spears, to the Roman Empire or ancient Egypt, when it was popular for the creation of obelisks and other monuments.

Unlike other materials, whose production implies the use of contaminating chemical agents, granite is a natural stone and is fully recyclable. During its treatment, only mechanical processes are used. This converts the granite into one of the most ecological and environmentally-friendly materials.
